What we're wearing this October
Cold mornings, warm afternoons — the season is one long layering problem and a handful of pieces solve it.

October here opens near freezing with a coffee on the dock and closes most days in shirtsleeves on an orchard bench. Dressing for both without changing twice is the practical skill of the season, and it comes down to pieces that hand off to each other.
The spine
Build one warm core and let it shed in stages: a knit you're happy in alone, a midi skirt or straight denim under it, and a structured jacket that carries the cold half of the day. When the afternoon warms, the jacket comes off and the outfit underneath was already finished.
Cold dawn on the dock, mild by two — October in the valley is a layering problem, not a shopping one.

The read
Keep the palette inside two or three colours and the layers swap without looking stacked longer than they should. A belt skirt over a fine knit reads sharper than it has any right to at this price, and a cinched jacket turns the same pieces toward the formal end of the week.
Boots finish it
Everything in the shop is built to meet ankle boots and stay standing. Nothing in the edit is chasing a trend that expires before this season's pumpkins do.
